The Project
.Our task was to take apart an item, draw it out, and improve upon it. We chose to do a nerf gun. The gun was very challenging to draw and that has caused us to run out of time quickly. We had a tough time drawing all the curves in the parts. The drawimgs were tough to complete becasue there are a lot of small parts. I thought the drawings would go much faster and thought we would be able to fix the problems in the time given. I was not expecting to have as much trouble as we did trying to figure out how the program works and how to build the parts. As a result, the project was very challenging.
Improvements
Our idea to improve the gun was to allow the pressure to release quicker via a stronger spring. Another idea was to built a 3D printed stock and add it to the back. We thought that a longer barrel could improve accuracy. The gun can be easily improved upon and the ideas may have worked but we did not have time to put any of them into practice or trial. We had multiple ideas to fix the issues with the nerf gun. They were needed because the gun did not shoot as far as it could have. The barrel also causes the gun to be a little off in terms of accurcy. Overall, these improvements would make the gun more effective.

Picking the Project and Challenges
We chose this project beause we saw a rather obvious issue. We felt it would be simple to fix the problem; however we did not plan on spending the entire time period trying to draw out the parts on inventor. The gun has so many curves and odd angle that drawing out the parts was very challenging. The gun has so many small parts it caused us to have to figure it out fast because of the amount of parts that had to be drawn. This in turn casue us to not have all the parts drawn out by the due date. If we had more time I feel like the project would have been much better and would be really cool. The gun was also tough because the gun had imprisions and varying thicknesses. This made the gun very hard to draw. Overall, the project was very challenging and allowed me to really figure out how the program worked.
Production of the Product
The gun is made out of plastic. It is likely to be stamped and pressed by the machines so that it takes its form. The parts are likely made out of formed plastic that is held together by supporting pieces or screws. As a result, the information on exactly how the nerf gun was produced I can assume the above becasue of the appearance of the pieces and what we could find on how it was produced.
